Free access and a Premium account serve different needs
X-VPN offers no-account free access alongside a paid Premium subscription. This comparison concerns the all-platform website subscription, with its own device allowance and renewal agreement. Installing free applications on several devices does not establish that the same Premium account can be used on an unlimited number of simultaneous connections.
Before upgrading, identify which locations and controls actually require a paid entitlement on the platform you use. Current feature pages and older pricing descriptions do not always describe free-tier availability identically. This review therefore avoids using a general free-download message as evidence that every advanced function is included without payment.
Linux has a command-line client rather than a desktop clone
X-VPN lists native Windows, macOS, Android and iOS applications, plus a Linux command-line client. The Linux instructions use terminal commands for installation, signing into a Premium account, connecting and changing locations. That provides a provider-managed route, but it should not be presented as the same graphical interface available on desktop or mobile applications.
Compatible routers provide another connection method. Their protocol and firmware requirements are distinct from installing a native app. If a television, console or other appliance cannot run the application directly, first check whether your particular router supports the documented configuration instead of assuming that a broad device compatibility list guarantees a native client.
Selective routing is more specific than a general checkbox
The official macOS walkthrough documents Smart Routing for applications and websites, with choices for sending selected traffic through the VPN or bypassing it. The same article describes application routing on iOS. These details make the feature useful to investigate when a local service needs a direct connection while other applications remain inside the tunnel.
Kill-switch documentation separately names Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. Linux parity is not established by that list. Protocol availability also requires platform-specific checking: Android documentation explicitly names OpenVPN and WireGuard, while compatible routers have their own profile choices. A supported protocol somewhere in the product range does not imply identical native settings everywhere.
The two-year introduction renews for a shorter period
The website offers monthly, annual and two-year initial terms. Its dedicated renewal schedule states a monthly recurring price for the monthly plan and an annual recurring charge for both longer introductions. Consequently the initial two-year total should not be compared directly with one later annual charge without also comparing the covered months.
The pricing interface also mentions a possible three-month bonus in an order summary while the formal billing text describes twenty-four months. This catalogue keeps the confirmed base duration and flags that discrepancy instead of silently extending the term. Payment method matters too: cryptocurrency purchases are described as one-time and non-refundable rather than ordinary automatic subscriptions.
Who should shortlist the all-platform subscription?
X-VPN Premium can be relevant to a household staying within five simultaneous connections and wanting a mix of mobile, desktop and Linux access. Review the actual client for each device, especially if selective routing or a specific protocol is essential. A Linux terminal workflow and a graphical phone application require different expectations about daily management.
Do not treat the advertised static-IP wording as a verified personal dedicated address without confirmation of exclusivity and conditions. Likewise, provider streaming and speed claims are not hands-on findings from this review. Later testing should examine reconnect protection, the chosen routing rules and the required locations while preserving the distinction between free access and paid-account capabilities.
Plans, first payment and renewal
Introductory offers and renewals are different billing periods. Compare the actual charge and included months, not only an advertised monthly equivalent.

Questions about X-VPN
How many devices can connect simultaneously?
Premium account up to5simultaneous devices. Free no-account installations are not the same multi-device paid entitlement.
Is the introductory monthly equivalent the renewal price?
No. It divides the exact first payment by its initial service period. Renewal is shown separately with its own charge and period; an unknown renewal is never inferred from the introductory offer.
Does a supported platform include every feature?
No. Protocols, split tunneling and kill switches can have different platform support. Use the feature descriptions above to check the app you intend to use.
How many simultaneous devices does X-VPN Premium cover?
The documented Premium account covers up to 5 simultaneous devices. No-account free installations are a different entitlement.
Does the X-VPN two-year plan renew for another two years?
No. The current standard schedule says the two-year introduction renews annually at USD 71. 99 before tax. The annual introduction also renews at that annual rate.
