Our assessment
Pro combines a personal-device allowance with desktop Firewall protection
Windscribe Pro documents unlimited data and unlimited personal-device connections. Its desktop Firewall feature is distinct from assuming that every mobile app has the same kill-switch behavior.
Key capabilities
Windscribe Pro combines unlimited data and personal-device connections with desktop Firewall protection and configurable VPN protocols. A separate free plan has data and location limits.
Limitations to check
A shared static IP is not a dedicated IP. The separate free plan also has data and location limits; compare the Pro subscription here on its own terms.

What Windscribe retains—and what it does not
Windscribe distinguishes browsing history from limited account-usage information. It does not retain a history of VPN sessions, originating IP addresses or sites visited, but it does retain the amount of data transferred over a 30-day period and a timestamp of the account’s last activity. Some connection information is held temporarily in server memory while a session is active.
This is a more useful description than interpreting no-logs as no information of any kind. For someone comparing privacy practices, account operation and traffic history are different categories. Windscribe’s approach should be evaluated against your own needs, including whether a record of recent account activity matters to you.
Pro, the free tier and personal devices
The subscription reviewed here is Windscribe Pro, with unlimited data and unlimited personal-device connections. The separate free plan has limits on data and available locations, so a successful trial of the free app does not establish that every Pro location is included without payment.
The personal-device wording also matters. A subscription used across your own phone, laptop and other devices is a different use case from treating an account as a resale or public-sharing service. Compare the actual terms as well as the connection allowance. Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android app coverage is represented, while individual routing and protection controls still differ.
Firewall and split tunneling in daily use
Windscribe’s desktop Firewall is relevant on Windows, macOS and Linux. It is not enough to see a general kill-switch checkmark and assume that an iPhone or Android device has identical behaviour. The practical question is what happens to the network path if the tunnel disconnects, including when the app starts or resumes.
Split tunneling is covered here on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. That can suit a user who wants some traffic to bypass the VPN while keeping other applications inside it. Before choosing, distinguish a full-device VPN app from a browser-only workflow, and check that the routing rules apply to the traffic you actually want to control.
Windscribe Pro pricing and the static-IP distinction
The reviewed monthly and annual Pro offers have clear subscription periods. The annual payment can be compared as a monthly equivalent, but it is still a prepaid yearly charge. Choosing a month at a time can be more appropriate when you want a short subscription or are still evaluating whether the available locations fit your work.
A shared static IP is not a dedicated IP. A static address may be repeatable while still being used by other customers; a dedicated address implies exclusivity. Someone buying for an IP allowlist should verify whether shared access is acceptable rather than treating any stable address as a personal one.
Who should consider Windscribe Pro?
Windscribe Pro is particularly relevant for someone comparing desktop Firewall behaviour, selective routing and a personal-device allowance across several systems. The ability to evaluate a separate free tier can be useful, provided the limits of that tier are not confused with the paid subscription.
Compare another service if your requirement is an exclusive dedicated IP or a mobile kill-switch implementation that has not been established in the current feature table. For location-sensitive browsing, choose the intended exit location and check the result on the target website; an IP location alone is not a promise about GPS, streaming access or a measured latency advantage.
Plans, first payment and renewal
Introductory offers and renewals are different billing periods. Compare the actual charge and included months, not only an advertised monthly equivalent.
| Plan | First payment | Monthly equivalent | Renewal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro — Monthly | USD 9.00First 1 months | USD 9.00Introductory equivalent | USD 9.00Every 1 months |
| Pro — Yearly | USD 69.00First 12 months | USD 5.75Introductory equivalent | USD 69.00Every 12 months |
Pro pricing is separate from the Free plan and Build A Plan. The published recurring monthly and annual amounts are shown without a promotional code.

Router use is documented; compatible firmware/configuration required.
- Split tunneling
Supported on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android; not claimed for iOS. Official availability statement lists these four apps. iOS is not in that statement.
Verified platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android.- Dedicated IP available
Provider explicitly distinguishes shared static IP add-ons from dedicated IPs; it does not sell dedicated IPs.
Questions about Windscribe
How many devices can connect simultaneously?
Unlimited personal simultaneous devices; account sharing and resale are prohibited.
Is the introductory monthly equivalent the renewal price?
No. It divides the exact first payment by its initial service period. Renewal is shown separately with its own charge and period; an unknown renewal is never inferred from the introductory offer.
Does a supported platform include every feature?
No. Protocols, split tunneling and kill switches can have different platform support. Use the feature descriptions above to check the app you intend to use.
Does Windscribe’s shared static IP count as dedicated IP?
No. A shared static IP can be stable while also being used by other customers. It is not an exclusive personal IP address.
Does Windscribe keep no account information at all?
It retains limited usage information, including transferred data over a 30-day period and the timestamp of last activity. That differs from retaining browsing history or a history of VPN sessions.
