Our assessment

Turbo VPN Free at a glance

Turbo VPN Free offers unlimited bandwidth for 1 device, a limited server selection and advertising; premium features are separate.

Key capabilities

Turbo VPN Free offers unlimited bandwidth for 1 device, a limited server selection and advertising; premium features are separate.

Limitations to check

Ongoing free plan. The separately advertised 30-day money-back offer belongs to a paid Premium purchase, not this free tier.

A free plan rather than a paid refund offer

Turbo VPN offers a continuing free service alongside Premium subscriptions. These are different choices: a free download or a money-back promotion does not mean that a paid subscription has no charge. This review covers the free plan and leaves the paid refund offer outside its price.

For a comparison, start with the entitlement you intend to use. A free account should be judged on the available free servers and controls, rather than on a nearby Premium offer. The comparison therefore shows no subscription charge instead of converting a paid introductory deal into a misleading free price.

Unlimited bandwidth with a limited server selection

The free-plan page advertises unlimited bandwidth and lists 1 device. That is useful for someone who wants to avoid a small monthly quota, but it does not establish a minimum transfer rate. Network conditions, the chosen endpoint and the available capacity still affect a connection.

The free service offers only a small selection of locations. The much larger network promoted on the same site is an upgrade benefit, so it is not used as the free location count here. If a particular country matters, inspect the free list in your app before making plans around it.

Native apps and the limits of a platform label

The free page lists Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. A browser extension is a separate installation choice and should not be mistaken for a native app protecting every application on the computer. Linux and manual router access have not been established for the reviewed free tier.

A general protocol list is also not enough to prove which choices a free user can select in each app. The comparison leaves unverified protocol entitlements unknown. If you need a particular protocol for a restricted network, confirm that requirement before depending on this free plan. A native app can be convenient for a single laptop or phone, but the 1-device free allowance makes this a different proposition from protecting a household through one plan. Review that limitation before installing it everywhere.

Important controls remain Premium features

The homepage’s free-service FAQ presents kill switch and split tunneling as Premium features. This review therefore does not credit them to Free merely because the website has general pages explaining those functions. A VPN connection button and a connection-loss safeguard are different capabilities.

For everyday use, consider what should happen if the tunnel disconnects or the device changes networks. A plan without an included kill switch may not meet an always-on privacy requirement. Likewise, do not assume you can exempt individual apps from the tunnel without upgrading.

Advertising and privacy deserve a separate decision

Turbo VPN’s privacy policy says advertising helps fund its free service and identifies advertising and analytics partners. It also describes anonymized diagnostic and usage information. The provider states that personal data is not used with advertising partners without prior consent; this is a policy statement rather than a hands-on test result.

Review the consent prompts and permissions on the device you will use. Unlimited bandwidth is a convenience, not proof of anonymity or suitability for sensitive work. Compare the funding model and missing controls with other free plans before choosing an app for regular use.

Free plan and limits

This continuing free plan has no subscription charge. Check the actual allowance and restrictions before relying on it.

Data allowance: Unlimited bandwidth is advertised for the free plan. No numeric minimum speed is guaranteed.

  • 1 device rather than the Premium multi-device allowance.
  • Only a small selection of free locations; the full 111-location network is Premium.
  • Advertising supports the free version.
  • Kill switch and split tunneling are described as Premium features.
  • Linux, router configuration and free-tier protocol choices are not verified.

Unlimited bandwidth does not mean full server access or guaranteed speeds. The free tier includes ads and does not include the advertised Premium kill switch or split tunneling.

Ongoing free plan. The separately advertised 30-day money-back offer belongs to a paid Premium purchase, not this free tier.
