Our assessment
Standard offers ten connections, with add-ons kept separate
PureVPN Standard documents ten simultaneous connections and major desktop and mobile platforms. Router support can be useful for compatible hardware, but does not mean every router supports the same setup.
Key capabilities
PureVPN Standard supports ten simultaneous devices, major desktop/mobile platforms and compatible routers. Dedicated IP is an optional paid add-on; split tunneling is platform-dependent.
Limitations to check
Split tunneling is documented for Windows and Android. Dedicated IP costs extra, and conflicting promotional landing pages should not be mixed with the selected order-page and renewal-policy offer.

PureVPN privacy: activity logs and account data
PureVPN’s consumer privacy policy separates VPN activity from the information needed to operate an account and provide support. Its stated policy is not to retain records that identify a user’s online activity. The account itself still involves information such as contact and payment details, so a no-logs claim should not be interpreted as having no customer data.
The policy also describes operational information, including connection day and ISP-related information, separately from specific connection times and personal IP addresses. That distinction is worth understanding before treating a short privacy slogan as a complete description. This review concerns the consumer VPN subscription, not separately configured partner or white-label services.
Standard and 10 simultaneous connections
PureVPN Standard supports 10 simultaneous connections and covers the major desktop and mobile systems. This makes the tier easy to compare for a household, but the wider PureVPN product range should not be folded into the Standard price automatically. Additional security bundles and network add-ons are separate decisions.
Router support also has a hardware and configuration requirement. A VPN-enabled router can be useful where you want protection at a network boundary, but not every ISP-supplied router can run the required client. Check the exact firmware and protocol setup before choosing a subscription mainly for router use.
Split tunneling, kill switches and stable IP addresses
Split tunneling is established here for Windows and Android. That is useful when a particular application needs a direct path while other traffic uses the VPN. It should not be assumed to provide the same selective routing on Apple devices merely because those devices have PureVPN apps.
The kill-switch coverage established in this review includes Windows, macOS and Linux; other platforms need to be checked separately. A dedicated IP is a paid option. It can help with a repeatable address for an allowlist or administration task, but it is still VPN infrastructure and is not the same as a normal residential connection that a destination website will always accept.
Comparing PureVPN offers without mixing promotions
PureVPN’s promotional pages can display different introductory totals and renewal amounts. The plan table keeps the chosen first charge, included months and renewal policy together. Combining one landing page’s low initial charge with a different page’s renewal would make the comparison misleading.
Monthly and prepaid offers also involve different commitments. Bonus months affect the first term shown for a particular offer, not every future billing period. Check the initial total, term length and renewal period before adding paid extras. If you only need ordinary VPN access, a dedicated-IP add-on should not be part of the cost unless its stable-address benefit solves your specific problem.
Where PureVPN Standard fits
PureVPN Standard is worth comparing when you want up to 10 connected devices and its Windows or Android split-tunneling behaviour matches a practical requirement. It can also be relevant when you need to evaluate a paid dedicated-IP option separately from the base VPN subscription.
Spend extra time on the exact order terms if you arrive through a promotion. For a household using several operating systems, check the platform table feature by feature rather than expecting every app to offer the same controls. Decide on the required capabilities first, then compare the complete cost over the period you intend to keep the service.
Plans, first payment and renewal
Introductory offers and renewals are different billing periods. Compare the actual charge and included months, not only an advertised monthly equivalent.
| Plan | First payment | Monthly equivalent | Renewal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard — Monthly | USD 12.95First 1 months | USD 12.95Introductory equivalent | USD 12.95Every 1 months |
| Standard — 1 year + 4 bonus months | USD 40.80First 16 months | USD 2.55Introductory equivalent | USD 57.95Every 12 months |
| Standard — 2 years + 3 bonus months | USD 58.20First 27 months | USD 2.16Introductory equivalent | USD 47.95Every 12 months |
Standard offers follow the canonical order page and linked renewal policy. Other promotional landing pages quote different amounts; taxes are additional.

- Linux
Official app download is offered.
- iOS
Official app download is offered.
- Android
Official app download is offered.
- WireGuard / WireGuard-based protocol
Native/manual WireGuard support; Linux manual guide specifies supported distribution versions. Official app instructions separately name Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. Linux support is independently documented in the manual setup guide; OS/version requirements apply.
Verified platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android.- OpenVPN
OpenVPN app/manual configuration support. Supported through official app/manual setup documentation. iOS/Android manual guides use the external OpenVPN Connect client; Windows Viscosity setup requires that third-party client.
Verified platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android.- Kill switch
Linux page documents traffic blocking after VPN disconnect; app/platform behavior can differ. Official feature support article names Windows, Mac and Linux for the kill switch; mobile not inferred from generic marketing.
Verified platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux.- Router support
Compatible OpenVPN/WireGuard-client routers only; not every router model is supported.
- Split tunneling
Native feature documented for Windows and Android; not general macOS/iOS support. Linux manual routing differs from an app toggle. Native app split tunneling. Linux manual policy-routing instructions are not treated as a native app feature.
Verified platforms: Windows, Android.- Dedicated IP available
Optional paid add-on, excluded from the Standard subscription amounts; dedicated-IP simultaneous limits differ from shared VPN allowance.
Paid add-on; excluded from VPN price
Questions about PureVPN
How many devices can connect simultaneously?
Standard consumer VPN allowance is up to 10 devices per account.
Is the introductory monthly equivalent the renewal price?
No. It divides the exact first payment by its initial service period. Renewal is shown separately with its own charge and period; an unknown renewal is never inferred from the introductory offer.
Does a supported platform include every feature?
No. Protocols, split tunneling and kill switches can have different platform support. Use the feature descriptions above to check the app you intend to use.
Are PureVPN add-ons included in Standard?
Not automatically. Dedicated IP is a paid add-on, and other bundles should be checked against the exact Standard offer rather than assumed to be included.
Why can two PureVPN promotions show different totals?
Regional offers, purchase channels and landing-page promotions can differ. Compare the first payment and renewal from the same selected offer.
Before you choose
Regional offers, taxes and purchase channels can change the amount billed. Paid add-ons are identified separately, and unavailable pricing remains marked as not verified.
