The Plus subscription and Mysterium Dark are different

Mysterium VPN Plus is the fixed subscription reviewed here. It is distinct from Mysterium Dark, the separate usage-based product involving a MYST-token wallet. A balance or setup instruction for Dark should not be presented as part of a Plus subscription, and purchasing the subscription does not establish that a legacy wallet has transferred.

The current tiers also differ within the subscription product. Basic covers six devices without residential exits or city selection; Plus covers ten with those capabilities; Pro adds further protections and fifteen-device coverage. Mixing Basic’s price with Plus’s residential features or Pro’s device count would create an offer that the provider does not sell.

Residential access is not an exclusive address

Plus includes access to residential exits and city-level selection. A residential address describes the type of network exit; it does not mean the address is reserved for your account or remains unchanged between connections. It also does not guarantee that a particular website will accept traffic or stop showing verification challenges.

Availability can vary by place and time. Consider whether you need a particular city, a broad country choice or simply an encrypted connection, and check those requirements before choosing a long term. No dedicated static-IP purchase offer was established here. The provider’s privacy claims are not an infrastructure audit performed by this site.

Native apps and a newly released Linux CLI

The subscription has Windows, macOS, Android and iOS apps. The newer mystvpn command-line client supports Ubuntu and Debian and uses the existing subscription account. It is terminal-only rather than a graphical Linux application. This current release should be distinguished from older help pages that only associate Linux with Mysterium Dark.

The Linux client uses WireGuard through wg-quick and has no OpenVPN protocol selector. Current support separately documents an OpenVPN TCP option in the subscription app, without establishing an identical platform matrix. Native-app kill-switch documentation covers Windows, macOS, Android and iOS; that scope should not be transferred automatically to Linux.

A router slot and an always-on failure safeguard

Compatible routers can receive a WireGuard configuration generated in the Mysterium dashboard. The initial router release permits one active router configuration per account, using one device slot. Changing the location requires replacing that configuration. Confirm WireGuard client support in the exact router firmware rather than relying on a general VPN label.

The native-app kill switch is described as always enabled for unexpected connection loss, with an important distinction: manually disconnecting does not trigger it. The help centre still says general split tunneling is unavailable. A browser extension only protecting browser traffic is a different arrangement from excluding selected applications inside the full-device VPN.

Use the complete current offer rather than an old headline

The current canonical Plus offer shows USD 54. 94 billed for two years, with VAT potentially added. Its monthly headline is rounded and does not make it monthly charging. Older indexed pricing variants showed different amounts and are not used to replace the newer canonical total. Other billing periods remain unverified in this record.

A separately guaranteed promotional renewal amount was not established, so no future price is invented from crossed-out comparison figures. Confirm tax, refund and renewal conditions in the final order. This review includes no measured speed, streaming or connection-loss testing; the residential feature and app descriptions should not be read as performance results from a paid account.

The public plan labels USD 54.94 every 24 months as the recurring billing amount for the stated two-year period. This records the published recurring rate, not a guarantee against future price changes. Confirm the final order terms for your purchase region.

Plans, first payment and renewal

Introductory offers and renewals are different billing periods. Compare the actual charge and included months, not only an advertised monthly equivalent.

Features and platform support

Support can differ between apps and operating systems. Platform coverage and limitations are shown below.

Windows

Native subscription app for windows; Mysterium Dark PAYG is a separate product.

macOS

Native subscription app for macos; Mysterium Dark PAYG is a separate product.

Linux

Official mystvpn terminal-only client launched 16 October 2026 for Ubuntu/Debian; not graphical. Uses subscription account and wg-quick, not Dark wallet.

iOS

Native subscription app for ios; Mysterium Dark PAYG is a separate product.

Android

Native subscription app for android; Mysterium Dark PAYG is a separate product.

WireGuard / WireGuard-based protocol

Default subscription VPN protocol; official Linux CLI uses WireGuard exclusively and router configurations are WireGuard.

Verified platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android.
OpenVPN

Current support documents OpenVPN TCP selector in app; per-platform availability not established. Linux CLI explicitly WireGuard only; no blanket five-platform claim.

Kill switch

Always on for native Windows/macOS/Android/iOS, cannot toggle off. Does not trigger after intentional manual disconnect. Linux CLI not covered.

Verified platforms: Windows, macOS, Android, iOS.
Router support

Generate WireGuard client config in dashboard; compatible OpenWrt/GLiNet/Asus firmware. One active router config/account; counts 1 device slot.

Split tunneling

Current help explicitly says unavailable; browser extension only covers browser and is not equivalent to general app split tunneling.

Dedicated IP available

Plus residential exit nodes are not an exclusive static IP. No current consumer dedicated-IP add-on verified.

Current support not verified.

Questions about Mysterium VPN

How many devices can connect simultaneously?

Plus10simultaneous; Basic6/Pro15 differ. Router usesone slot.

Is the introductory monthly equivalent the renewal price?

No. It divides the exact first payment by its initial service period. Renewal is shown separately with its own charge and period; an unknown renewal is never inferred from the introductory offer.

Does a supported platform include every feature?

No. Protocols, split tunneling and kill switches can have different platform support. Use the feature descriptions above to check the app you intend to use.

Does Mysterium VPN Plus require a MYST wallet?

The subscription product uses an account and fixed subscription. Mysterium Dark is a separate crypto-wallet, pay-as-you-go product; its balances and Linux instructions should not be mixed with Plus.

Does the kill switch block traffic after a manual disconnect?

The provider says its native-app kill switch handles unexpected connection loss and cannot be toggled off, but does not trigger when you intentionally disconnect. Linux CLI protection is not established by that native-app statement.

Before you choose

Regional offers, taxes and purchase channels can change the amount billed. Paid add-ons are identified separately, and unavailable pricing remains marked as not verified.

We have not conducted hands-on speed, streaming or app tests for this review. No numerical ratings or test badges are assigned.
