Check local availability before evaluating the product

Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection remains a paid product, but availability is region-dependent. The provider documents suspended purchases and renewals for US customers and separate country restrictions on downloading or activating VPN functionality. A global product page is consequently not evidence that a particular customer can purchase or activate the service locally.

Check the supported purchasing region through the normal local storefront before considering a subscription. This review does not suggest changing region to avoid restrictions. Availability also affects long-term value: a low advertised initial price would be irrelevant if the licence cannot be activated or renewed where the customer lives.

Standalone VPN and security-suite packaging are different

The standalone VPN supports the main Windows, macOS, Android and iOS platforms. It is also advertised as part of broader security packages, but that does not make every antivirus or identity-protection feature part of the standalone purchase. Identify the actual product and device allowance rather than relying on a shared brand or comparison panel.

This comparison uses the German standalone offer for five devices. The global FAQ describes a different ten-device allowance, which must not be substituted into the German price. Generic Linux requirements on a security-suite panel also do not establish a native standalone Linux VPN application; Linux can use the documented manual OpenVPN route.

Native features and manual profiles need separate treatment

Official setup material allows OpenVPN configuration profiles to be used with compatible clients, including Linux, and current router guidance describes OpenVPN and WireGuard support. A router deployment can cover equipment that cannot run the provider application directly, but the router must support the selected protocol and have sufficient resources for the connection.

Windows documentation describes selective application routing and a kill switch. Versioned instructions also identify a WireGuard limitation for split tunnelling, so those checkboxes should not be interpreted as every feature working together in every mode. Android has separate excluded-app instructions. Confirm the selected platform, software version and connection mode before depending on a particular routing combination.

A regional introductory charge and separate renewal

The German standalone offer covers five devices for one year. Its displayed introductory charge and automatic annual renewal are kept separately in the price table. A lower first charge is therefore not presented as the permanent cost. The security-suite offer on the same page is a different purchase and is excluded from this VPN comparison.

Keep region, duration and allowance together when comparing alternatives. A global ten-device statement does not increase the allowance of a differently scoped local plan. A trial converting to a subscription is also distinct from a permanent free service: official2026help says the former free mode ended in November2025, making older free-plan comparisons potentially misleading.

Who should investigate the local offer further?

For customers in supported regions, Kaspersky VPN can be relevant when a mainstream application and a compatible router connection both matter. Manual profiles provide another deployment choice, but they require their own client configuration and should not be assumed to inherit every graphical application control. A personal dedicated-IP offer is not verified in this catalogue.

Before committing, confirm local availability, the actual device limit and the full first and renewal charges. Then check the required routing features in the intended application or router. These observations describe published capabilities rather than measured performance. Later testing should examine reconnection, selective routing and practical network compatibility without presenting provider marketing as our own test result.

Plans, first payment and renewal

Introductory offers and renewals are different billing periods. Compare the actual charge and included months, not only an advertised monthly equivalent.

Questions about Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection

How many devices can connect simultaneously?

German standalone VPN offer explicitly covers 5 devices for 1 year.

Is the introductory monthly equivalent the renewal price?

No. It divides the exact first payment by its initial service period. Renewal is shown separately with its own charge and period; an unknown renewal is never inferred from the introductory offer.

Does a supported platform include every feature?

No. Protocols, split tunneling and kill switches can have different platform support. Use the feature descriptions above to check the app you intend to use.

Does Kaspersky VPN support Linux or routers?

Official documentation supports manual OpenVPN profiles on compatible Linux clients and VPN-capable routers. Current router guidance also describes WireGuard. This does not imply a native standalone Linux VPN interface.

How many devices does the reviewed German plan cover?

The German standalone VPN offer covers 5 devices for 1 year. It costs EUR 29.99 initially and renews at EUR 45.99 per year. Other regional offers and security-suite bundles may have different allowances.

Before you choose
