Premium VPN is separate from a security bundle
Bitdefender Premium VPN is a standalone subscription for unlimited encrypted traffic and a choice of available locations. Bitdefender also includes a limited standard VPN in security products and sells security bundles containing Premium VPN. Those products should not be treated as the same plan merely because they share an application or Central account.
A Premium VPN subscription does not automatically add antivirus, a password manager or every other feature advertised for a security bundle. Its no-traffic-logs statement concerns the VPN service, while a website may still recognise cookies or an account login. Keep connection privacy separate from malware protection and browser identity when deciding what you need.
10 simultaneous connections on the supported platforms
The official FAQ describes a maximum of 10 concurrent Premium VPN connections. A bundle may have a different installation allowance, but that does not remove the stated simultaneous-connection limit. Check how many computers, phones and tablets will remain connected at the same time before comparing it with an unlimited-device service.
Windows, macOS, Android and iOS have dedicated applications, and Premium VPN can be installed without buying the full antivirus suite. Router installation is explicitly unsupported, and configuration files for direct integration are not supplied. Linux is discussed as a development possibility, but a released compatible Linux app has not been established in this review.
Protocol choice can change available features
WireGuard is documented on all four main platforms, with macOS requiring Ventura 13.3 or later for that protocol. OpenVPN TCP and UDP are established for Windows and Android. Other platform details vary between guides, so the presence of a protocol in a general troubleshooting example is not treated as universal native-client support.
Split tunneling needs more attention than a single yes-or-no label. Windows and Android support application exclusions, while macOS uses website exceptions. Website bypass on the four platforms depends on the selected protocol and can be limited with WireGuard, OpenVPN or IPsec. The kill switch is documented across the four platforms, but practical interruption behaviour still needs testing.
The first-year price and renewal are separate decisions
The rendered official US page lists USD 34.99 billed for the first year of standalone Premium VPN, plus applicable sales tax. Its monthly equivalent is a way to compare the annual cost, not a month-to-month subscription. The complete annual amount should be included in the upfront purchase decision.
The renewal charge remains unverified. A crossed-out USD 69.99 amount is displayed, but that alone does not establish the next actual charge, so it is not imported as renewal. Security-bundle prices and account-specific forum quotes are also excluded. Confirm the final renewal conditions, tax and regional eligibility before buying.
Who should consider Bitdefender Premium VPN?
Premium VPN may suit someone already comfortable with Bitdefender Central who needs unlimited traffic on several supported desktop and mobile devices. Check first whether an existing bundle already includes enough VPN access, and whether the required website or application exclusions are available under the protocol you intend to use.
Consider alternatives when router configuration, a verified Linux client or a dedicated personal IP is necessary. Confirm the renewal amount if long-term cost is central to your decision. A large feature list is less useful than the exact capability on your device. Speed, streaming access and reconnect behaviour still need practical testing; this review makes no hands-on performance claims.
Plans, first payment and renewal
Introductory offers and renewals are different billing periods. Compare the actual charge and included months, not only an advertised monthly equivalent.

Questions about Bitdefender Premium VPN
How many devices can connect simultaneously?
Premium VPN supports a maximum of 10 simultaneous devices. Bundle installation allowances do not remove this concurrent-device limit.
Is the introductory monthly equivalent the renewal price?
No. It divides the exact first payment by its initial service period. Renewal is shown separately with its own charge and period; an unknown renewal is never inferred from the introductory offer.
Does a supported platform include every feature?
No. Protocols, split tunneling and kill switches can have different platform support. Use the feature descriptions above to check the app you intend to use.
Is Bitdefender Premium VPN the same as Premium Security?
No. Premium VPN is the standalone unlimited VPN subscription. Premium Security is a broader security bundle that may include VPN alongside other products.
Can I export Bitdefender VPN configuration files for my router?
No. The official FAQ says router installation is unsupported and configuration files or authentication details for direct integration are not supplied.
