Limitations to check
Current US first charges for 12/24/36 months: USD 59.88, 95.76, 143.64. Each renews at USD 99.99 per 12 months, rather than renewing for the initial multi-year period. No monthly subscription is inferred from a monthly equivalent.

SecureLine is now Avast Premium VPN
The current Avast website calls this product Avast Premium VPN and explicitly identifies SecureLine VPN as its former name. Existing subscription continuity matters: the new label should not be interpreted as another VPN that must be purchased alongside the old one. Check your account entitlement before buying a second licence simply because the website or installer uses different branding.
Avast is also consolidating desktop delivery into the modular Avast One application. The VPN module can be activated without buying every security and maintenance module. A VPN subscription does not automatically equal the Ultimate bundle, and Premium Security alone does not establish a paid VPN entitlement. Compare the product actually included in your order.
Ten connections across desktop and mobile apps
The current multi-device VPN subscription permits up to 10 simultaneous devices across Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. This is a useful household allowance, although older subscriptions and purchases made inside mobile stores should be checked separately. A supported platform does not imply that its app has every control offered by the Windows version.
No supported Linux client or router-client installation has been established here. The support advice about enabling IPsec passthrough on a router concerns allowing a computer or phone to connect through that router. It does not mean the router itself can authenticate to Avast and protect every device on the network.
Protocols and exclusions depend on the platform
Current platform-specific documentation lists WireGuard across the four native app platforms. OpenVPN is listed on Windows and Android, while Apple app protocol lists differ. The Mimic option is another transport choice; its presence should not be read as a promise that every restricted network will allow a connection.
Windows and Android have documented application exclusions. Trusted networks and access to local printers are different settings with different effects. Kill Switch is documented on the four native platforms, with an important iOS qualification: it is unavailable when IPsec is selected. Read the protocol and failure-protection settings together rather than assuming every combination offers the same behaviour.
A longer initial term still renews annually
The checked US website offers initial charges of USD 59.88 for one year, USD 95.76 for two years and USD 143.64 for three years. These are full first payments. Dividing by the included months helps compare cost, but does not make the subscription a cancellable monthly payment.
All three offers state renewal at USD 99.99 per year. A two-year first period therefore must not be presented as a two-year renewal at that amount. Regional taxes, later price changes and mobile-store terms can alter an actual order. The trial is a separate purchase path; uninstalling the app is not a substitute for checking subscription cancellation.
A familiar app ecosystem with specific limits
Avast Premium VPN may suit someone who wants its native apps and already understands the Avast account and modular interface. It is less clearly suited to a Linux-first or manually configured router setup. Check the required locations and your operating system controls before committing to several years.
The provider distinguishes connection records from browsing activity in its logging explanation. Avoid reducing that distinction to an unqualified claim that nothing is recorded. This review includes no authenticated speed, streaming or failure tests, and it does not establish a dedicated-IP offer. Those remain separate questions from having an encrypted connection and a different visible IP address.
Plans, first payment and renewal
Introductory offers and renewals are different billing periods. Compare the actual charge and included months, not only an advertised monthly equivalent.

- macOS
Native application supported on macos.
- Linux
Current supported native app platforms are Windows, macOS, Android and iOS; no supported Linux app or manual Linux configuration is established.

Native application supported on android.
- WireGuard / WireGuard-based protocol
Current Avast FAQ platform-tagged protocol lists include WireGuard on all four native platforms.
Verified platforms: Windows, macOS, iOS, Android.- OpenVPN
OpenVPN explicitly listed on Windows and Android; macOS/iOS use separately listed IPsec/WireGuard/Mimic choices.
Verified platforms: Windows, Android.- Kill switch
Documented on Windows/macOS/Android/iOS; iOS kill switch is unavailable with IPsec.
Verified platforms: Windows, macOS, Android, iOS.- Router support
No official router client configuration verified. IPsec/VPN passthrough instructions concern the router allowing app traffic; they do not establish running this VPN on the router.
Current support not verified.- Split tunneling
Application exclusions documented for Windows and Android; not inferred from trusted-network exclusion or LAN access.
Verified platforms: Windows, Android.- Dedicated IP available
No current consumer dedicated-IP purchase option verified; changing server or rotating a shared IP does not reserve one for the subscriber.
Current support not verified.
Questions about Avast Premium VPN
How many devices can connect simultaneously?
Multi-Device subscription permits up to 10 devices simultaneously; app-store or legacy licences can differ.
Is the introductory monthly equivalent the renewal price?
No. It divides the exact first payment by its initial service period. Renewal is shown separately with its own charge and period; an unknown renewal is never inferred from the introductory offer.
Does a supported platform include every feature?
No. Protocols, split tunneling and kill switches can have different platform support. Use the feature descriptions above to check the app you intend to use.
Is Avast Premium VPN a different subscription from SecureLine?
The current website says SecureLine VPN is now Premium VPN, with the same subscription and protection. Desktop website delivery now uses the VPN module in Avast One; this does not automatically include the full Ultimate bundle.
Does the two-year Avast VPN offer renew for another two years?
The observed US offer charges USD 95.76 for the initial 24 months, then states USD 99.99 per year for renewal. The initial and renewal periods are different.
