Our assessment

AdGuard VPN at a glance

AdGuard VPN supports 10 paid simultaneous connections, TrustTunnel, platform-specific exclusions and a Linux CLI; WireGuard/OpenVPN profiles are not its app protocol.

Key capabilities

AdGuard VPN supports 10 paid simultaneous connections, TrustTunnel, platform-specific exclusions and a Linux CLI; WireGuard/OpenVPN profiles are not its app protocol.

Limitations to check

Observed provider checkout totals in USD: 14.99 for 1 month, 59.85 for 12 months and 89.70 for 24 months, including 25% Swedish VAT. USD was selected at the provider, not converted from another currency. Billing country, taxes and future renewal charges may differ.

Distinguish AdGuard VPN from other AdGuard products

AdGuard VPN, AdGuard Ad Blocker and AdGuard DNS are related products with different jobs. A VPN creates the encrypted route to a server; an ad blocker or DNS filter applies its own filtering controls. A bundled DNS subscription does not mean every ad-blocking function is automatically part of the VPN tunnel.

The provider describes TrustTunnel as its open-source VPN protocol. That allows the protocol to be examined, but is not our own security audit and does not make the VPN a cure for every online privacy problem. Signed-in websites, account history and device security still matter after your visible IP address changes.

Ten paid connections and a command-line Linux option

Paid AdGuard VPN subscriptions support ten simultaneous device connections. The free version has its own two-device allowance and traffic restrictions, so those should not be combined into a single record. For a household comparison, count active connections and make sure the selected plan is the paid version shown in the prices here.

Windows, macOS, iOS and Android have native applications. Linux uses the official command-line application, with a choice between a system tunnel and a local SOCKS5 proxy. Proxy mode only covers applications configured to use it; it should not be treated as automatically routing every program or every DNS request on the computer.

TrustTunnel and platform-specific exclusions

AdGuard VPN uses TrustTunnel over HTTP2/TLS or HTTP3/QUIC rather than OpenVPN or WireGuard. This matters if you already rely on a router or external client that requires a profile for one of those other protocols. Router support follows separate compatible IPsec client instructions or supported Linux-based firmware using TrustTunnel.

Exclusions also differ across platforms. Desktop and Android interfaces can handle application and website rules, while iOS and Linux domain exclusions should not be described as equivalent per-app filtering. Integration with AdGuard Ad Blocker can disable some controls. Check the active operating mode together with the kill-switch and exclusion settings, not each feature in isolation.

Regional tariffs and VAT need to be read together

After selecting USD at the provider, the observed checkout totals are USD 14.99 for one month, USD 59.85 for one year and USD 89.70 for two years, including 25% Swedish VAT. These are provider totals, not a currency conversion. A different billing country or purchase channel may have different taxes or offers.

The full initial amount is more useful than a rounded monthly headline when deciding how much to commit. Future renewal is kept unverified here because an embedded base renewal figure alone does not establish the final promotional, payment and tax terms. Confirm the order you actually purchase, especially if comparing a reseller licence with a direct website subscription.

Who should consider AdGuard VPN?

AdGuard VPN is worth examining when its ten-connection allowance, native apps and exclusion controls match your setup. It may also suit someone already using other AdGuard products, provided they understand the integration modes and the features those modes restrict. Linux users should be comfortable choosing and configuring the intended traffic-routing mode.

We have not measured its speed, streaming access or failure protection in an authenticated test. Confirm the required locations and applications on your own connection before a longer purchase. No current dedicated-IP offer was verified in this assessment; a dedicated DNS endpoint or a particular router configuration must not be mistaken for an address reserved exclusively for your VPN traffic.

Plans, first payment and renewal

Introductory offers and renewals are different billing periods. Compare the actual charge and included months, not only an advertised monthly equivalent.

Features and platform support

Support can differ between apps and operating systems. Platform coverage and limitations are shown below.

Windows

Native AdGuard VPN windows application.

macOS

Native AdGuard VPN macos application.

Linux

Official command-line application with TUN/SOCKS5 modes; not a native graphical Linux app.

iOS

Native AdGuard VPN ios application.

Android

Native AdGuard VPN android application.

WireGuard / WireGuard-based protocol

AdGuard VPN apps use its TrustTunnel protocol over HTTP2/TLS or HTTP3/QUIC, not WireGuard.

OpenVPN

TrustTunnel is distinct from OpenVPN. Existing OpenVPN configuration compatibility is not provided by these apps.

Kill switch

Kill switch documented on Windows/macOS/iOS/Android; Android integrated mode disables kill switch and app exclusions. Linux CLI kill-switch scope not independently established.

Verified platforms: Windows, macOS, iOS, Android.
Router support

Paid IPsec/IKEv2 client configuration or supported Linux/TrustTunnel router firmware; VPN-server-only support is insufficient.

Split tunneling

Exclusions are platform-specific: desktop/Android can exclude apps or domains; iOS/Linux offer domain rules. Integrated modes restrict exclusions.

Verified platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android.
Dedicated IP available

No current dedicated-IP purchase offer verified. AdGuard DNS dedicated endpoints are a different product feature.

Questions about AdGuard VPN

How many devices can connect simultaneously?

10 simultaneous connections on paid subscriptions; free version has a separate 2-device limit.

Is the introductory monthly equivalent the renewal price?

No. It divides the exact first payment by its initial service period. Renewal is shown separately with its own charge and period; an unknown renewal is never inferred from the introductory offer.

Does a supported platform include every feature?

No. Protocols, split tunneling and kill switches can have different platform support. Use the feature descriptions above to check the app you intend to use.

Does AdGuard VPN use WireGuard or OpenVPN?

AdGuard VPN apps use TrustTunnel, with HTTP2/TLS or HTTP3/QUIC transport. Router configurations can use separately supported IPsec options; this is not WireGuard or OpenVPN profile support.

Do the displayed AdGuard VPN USD totals include VAT?

The observed totals of USD 14.99, USD 59.85 and USD 89.70 include 25% Swedish VAT for 1, 12 and 24 months respectively. USD was chosen in the official currency selector. Taxes and regional offers may differ.

Before you choose

Regional offers, taxes and purchase channels can change the amount billed. Paid add-ons are identified separately, and unavailable pricing remains marked as not verified.

We have not conducted hands-on speed, streaming or app tests for this review. No numerical ratings or test badges are assigned.
